I know that seeing a new stylist can feel overwhelming and you've probably got quite a few questions. I want to set you up for success, so here are some of the most commonly asked questions my new clients usually have:

My Story

WHERE IS THE STUDIO?

Melissa The Hair Witch is located at 2504 S Hopkins Ave in Titusville, across the street from behind the movie theater and right next to Metro. Parking is available in the plaza.​​

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?

Communication means a lot to me. If you're running late or need to cancel at any time for whatever reason, just let me know! Cancelling and rescheduling can be done through my booking site (or the links in your appointment texts). If you're running late, the quickest way to let me know will be through text: 9518051355. If I haven't heard from you after 15 minutes of your scheduled appointment time, your appointment will need to be rescheduled. Multiple cancellations will not cause resentment or negative feelings towards you (truly, life happens) but may result in a $45 cancellation fee.

HOW DO I KNOW I'LL BE HAPPY WITH MY HAIR?

First, please know that is my #1 goal too, which is why your visit will start with a full consultation where we are going to cover your hair history and goals for this appointment and future appointments. If you don't feel comfortable with the plan I create, we'll continue collaborating until we come to an agreement on what makes us both feel the best about achieving your goals.

HOW LONG WILL MY APPOINTMENT TAKE? HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

My booking site (where you originally booked your appointment) has every service listed with times and pricing. No hidden fees here. The only way your pricing or timing would change is if you change your services during our consultation.

HOW CAN I PREPARE?

ROOT REVIVAL OR FULL COLOR REVIVAL : Avoid washing your hair or itching your scalp within the 48 hours leading up to your appointment.

TLC HAIRCUT & STYLE : If you have curly hair, arrive with your hair dry and styled the way you usually like to wear it so I can see your curl pattern.

QUICK TRIM : Arrive with clean hair and minimal product.

BALAYAGE : If you have curly hair, it's helpful (but not required) if you come in with your hair straightened for smoother application.

ENERGY HEALING : Dress comfortably and try to avoid wearing any ponytails, headbands, clips, etc.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN I GET THERE?

I usually keep my door locked to keep privacy for my guests and I (especially during Energy Healing), so when you arrive at your appointment's start time, I will come to the door to let you in. Feel free to come early if you'd like. If you see the "healing in session" sign on the door, I can let you in as soon as my previous client's session is complete.

YAY! YOU'RE HERE! :)

I work in a solo studio, so come as you are! Want to wear pajamas? Bring a friend? Take a phone call? A work meeting? Ordering food? Yes, yes and YES! This is your time to enjoy however you'd like. My only request is to please leave your cute kiddos with a sitter to ensure a smooth and safe visit for everyone.

WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE THE WAY MY HAIR TURNS OUT?

I do my best to make sure that doesn't happen around here. We are going to be talking A LOT before, during and after your appointment to be sure we both feel confident with the plan and result. If for whatever reason your service doesn't live up to what we discussed, I am more than happy to plan for future adjustments. Just let me know, you won't hurt my feelings :)

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY ENERGY HEALING SESSION?

If this is your first session, I'm sure you have tons of questions! CLICK HERE to learn all about what happens every step of the way! Spoiler alert: you're going to LOVE it :)

JUST SO YOU KNOW...

I have water, snacks, drinks, blankets in case you get cold, a mini free library, affirmation and tarot cards for you to use, and more! You're welcome to order Doordash or UberEATS during your visit as well. WIFI is currently unavailable. Black Cat Coffee is two minutes down the street at Hopkins Square, and my next-door neighbor Pon Di River has the most DELICIOUS authentic Jamaican food infused with seafood, pasta, and vegan options! Grab coffee, get your hair done, and pick up yummy food after... sounds like the perfect day to me :)
